Four Form II and III students recently participated in the UKMT Maths Challenge, held at Vyners School in Hillingdon, alongside teams from other schools across the region. This event provided an excellent opportunity for students to engage in a series of mathematical and logical challenges, fostering both individual and collaborative problem-solving skills.
The competition consisted of four rounds, each lasting 45 minutes. These included Shuffle, a test of strategic problem-solving, a fast-paced relay requiring quick thinking and teamwork, a maths-themed crossword and a collaborative group challenge.
Our students approached each task with enthusiasm, applying their problem-solving skills to the range of different mathematical puzzles. They particularly enjoyed working together and experiencing new styles of problem-solving. The students were awarded certificates at the end of the day, recognising their effort and commitment. Well done to Esther, Millie, Rosa and Stephanie for their teamwork and tenacity throughout the day.
