Photography Trip to Cornwall

By 13/02/2015 No Comments

We arrived in Cornwall in the early evening, where we all unpacked, celebrated the 18th birthdays of Alice and Issy (both UVI Form) with cake and party poppers and headed straight out for dinner! Despite the evening’s wind and rain, it did not stop the night’s photography workshop!

The next day we drove to St Ives, around 25 minutes away from Perranporth to visit the Tate, St Ives where there was a huge photography exhibition based around the Bauhaus, a significant movement in the design world. This was very useful, as we were able to collect our primary research and find inspiration for our next photo-shoots.

After lunch and a bit of time to wander around the town, we got ready to take our first photo shoot, using a variety of cameras to achieve unique photographs.

We then visited the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Museum, which was exhibiting some extraordinary and unusual sculptures both inside and outdoors in the sculpture garden.

With our batteries recharged, the UVI Form took their turn at photographing at night and writing with light.

The next day was our last full day, where we drove out of Perranporth to nearby Newquay. We started the day by taking another photo shoot on the beach and in the town itself. We then had a chance to visit the aquarium, which triggered a lot of excitement amongst everyone!

After lunch, we headed back to Perranporth and took some more photographs on the beach using a variety of lenses and filters, to capture the best sunset images we possibly could.

We would like to thank Miss White, Sue Broomfield and Ken Gregory for taking us to Cornwall and making it such a memorable and enjoyable trip!
