Heathfield School, Lacrosse, National Tournament, Team work,The U15 team also found themselves against tough opposition and lost to Caterham, Haberdashers Monmouth School for Girls, Moreton Hall and Queen Margaret’s. Kitty (Form III) and Isabella (Form IV) were players of the tournament.

The 1st team play over 2 days. On Friday everyone is in mixed round robin groups and depending on where you finish determines your group for the following day’s play. We lost 3 matches, but drew with St. Helen’s Northwood, Claremont and North London Collegiate. This meant we finished fifth in our group and once again qualified for Division 2. On Saturday we unfortunately lost to Harrogate Ladies’ College and Loretto but we had a convincing win over St. George’s, Ascot 5-2.

In the last 16 we faced Sherborne who we had drawn with back in October. In an extremely tense match the scores were tied 1–1 at the end of full time, which meant that the game went in to ‘golden goal’ extra time whereby the team that scores first wins the match! At the end of the first three minutes nothing could divide the teams. After half time we gained possession at the draw and went down to score and win the game.

In the quarter finals we faced Glenalmond in another tense and tight game which went down to the last minute where we narrowly lost 3–4.

Overall we finished 38 out of the 56 schools taking part. Higher placed than last year. Congratulations to all those who fought so hard over a tiring couple of days.
