GSA Girls Go Gold

By 20/09/2024 No Comments

On Thursday we took nine students to the annual Girls Go Gold conference which was hosted this year at Sherborne Girls’ School. The students had a fantastic day and came away with a real sense of pride and passion to be representing girls in sports they love, and being part of the generation that is breaking glass ceilings. The girls heard from the inspirational Clare Balding who spoke about her experiences in sport and how failures are valuable lessons learnt. She also spoke about always saying yes to opportunities as this will enable you to unlock your true potential.

Sue Anstiss was another interesting speaker who spoke about the myths surrounding women’s sport and how being strong and physical is in fact beautiful and something to celebrate. Students also took part in masterclasses in a variety of sports and were coached by some legends in their fields. The girls have come away feeling part of the unstoppable rise of women’s sports!
