Every year at Heathfield we celebrate Founder’s Day…
…and Eleanor Beatrice Wyatt, who opened the school in 1899. Mrs Gardiner Legge hosted a special assembly reminding the girls about the history of our school.
As part of our Founders Day celebrations we invited inspirational speaker Sarah Outen MBE. Sarah is a world-record breaking adventurer and published author who shared tales and lessons learned, from gruelling expeditions with the girls. Sarah spoke about how she has made her dreams a reality, in spite of setbacks, recessions, failures, illness and fears. Be it battling storms inside her head or out on the ocean, she explained how she has built and managed teams from a tent or had the courage to forge her own path.
As a Founders Day surprise the duo Jack and Joel who wowed on The X Factor 2017 performed to the whole school in St Mary’s Theatre.
