On Saturday, Forms III to LVI were able to sample the delights of Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park where they visited the Christmas markets and went on some of the rides. Forms I and II had a cosy afternoon in watching the Christmas film The Grinch in the St Mary’s Theatre, before being treated to a social at Sunningdale School including dinner and dancing. The EFL department hosted their own Christmas party for the international girls with snacks and games provided, including ‘Pin the Tail on the Cat.’
On Sunday, Forms I and II competed in a quick craftathon, being timed and judged on how swiftly they could complete certain craft tasks. They were then on their way to the Harry Potter Studios Tour where they learned about the making of the movies as well as the amount of detail and planning that was involved in special effects, costumes and direction. The girls also were able to taste the famous butterbeer and fly on the broomstick green-screen simulation.
The rest of the school had a quiet day, watching the movie Elf getting them ready to enter the Christmas spirit for the holidays. Thanks to all Austen staff and Housemistresses for their great help and support over the weekend.
