Form I (Year 7)
Joining Heathfield at 11+
Candidates registered for entry to Heathfield at 11+ in September 2025 will be invited for assessment in November 2024. Candidates are assessed in small groups. Those registered will be allocated a date and time for their assessment and interview.
Candidates will be assessed in numeracy, literacy and non-verbal ability via the online CEM (Centre for Evaluation and Monitoring) test. The assessment is designed to evaluate potential rather than knowledge, so tutoring and preparation are not required. They will also attend an interview with the Headmistress.
Heathfield aims to make a holistic evaluation of candidates; all components of the assessment together with a reference from the candidate’s current school will be evaluated in order to identify those who will benefit from the many opportunities that the school offers. The aim of the process is to identify potential. We are looking for well-rounded pupils with a genuine interest in education in the broadest sense of the word, with interests that include and stretch beyond the academic curriculum. The School has strong traditions in academia, art, drama, music, community activities and sport. There are many co-curricular activities, all of which are important in developing a well-balanced, confident and happy individual.
Form III (Year 9)
Joining Heathfield at 13+

Deferred Entry
Candidates seeking entrance at 13+ may also opt to apply for a place at 11+ and defer entry until Form III (Year 9). Such candidates will be assessed in the Autumn Term of Year 6 in the same way as 11+ candidates applying for the following academic year. This enables pupils to remain in 13+ prep schools secure in the knowledge that they have an offer of a place subject to final references.

Applying for a Visa
Heathfield School is experienced in guiding international families through the official application process which enables their daughter(s) to study in the UK. Heathfield School is a Highly Trusted Sponsor under the UK Visas & Immigration’s Child Student visa system. We hold a child student visa licence and may sponsor students for their secondary education at the school. In order to provide students with the Confirmation of Acceptance to Study (CAS) required for a visa application, we require payment of a term’s fees, the international deposit and visa administration fee as detailed below.
There will be a one off Visa administration charge for this service of £600 which you should pay on acceptance of your daughter’s place, together with the acceptance deposit and at least a term’s school fees paid in advance. Applicants who choose to pay only one term’s fees in advance will need to prove that they have the funds to pay a year’s worth of boarding fees for 28 days in their bank account.
Visas are valid up until the end of the GCSE course. A new CAS is required for the two year A Level programme in the Sixth Form.
Please note – girls aged 16 or 17 years old may be required to have an interview with a member of UKVI staff as part of their visa application process and may be required to register with the local police station on arrival.
If you have any queries regarding visas please contact our Head of Admissions, Isabel Hutchings.
Guardianship
It is a legal requirement for every pupil in the UK to have a guardian. This can be a friend or relative or there are several guardianship agencies which act on parents behalf with a varying level of services. The contract for guardianship is between the parent and the guardian. The accredited organisation for guardianship is AEGIS and to go to their website for a list of guardianship agencies please click here. http://www.aegisuk.net/
A list of duties that we would normally expect Guardians to undertake please can be found in the School’s Educational Guardianship policy, which is listed here.
