ISI Inspection

Heathfield School has been awarded ‘excellent’ in all areas by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The inspectors found that at Heathfield School: ‘the overall achievement of the pupils is excellent and represents the successful fulfilment of the school’s ambitious aims.’

The Inspectors state, ‘Pupils demonstrate extensive subject knowledge and understanding across the full range of subjects and display a particularly well-developed appreciation of the role of creativity in enriching their lives’. Pupils are described as demonstrating ‘positive attitudes to learning and achieving their best and display extremely effective study skills and abilities.’ The inspectors also commented that ‘Pupils demonstrate conspicuously substantial self-knowledge and resilience that prepares them well for the next stages of their lives.’

‘It feels more like a home than a school,’ says one of the girls here. And with just 245 pupils, 144 of them boarders, the family atmosphere is tangible at this white Italianate mansion on the outskirts of Ascot. ‘[We] intentionally get to know each child really well; they are not just numbers, it’s very individualised,’ says head Sarah Rollings.
