The service led by Father Tim welcomed the UVI Form girls into the Heathfield Fellowship and each girl was presented with her Fellowship badge as a symbol of joining this global network. This service was followed by an outstanding Girls’ Showcase in St Mary’s Theatre where the girls had the opportunity to demonstrate their talents to an audience of parents and governors.
At 11.15 am everyone congregated in the Sports Hall for our annual prize giving ceremony. Chair of Governors, Mr Bishop and Headmistress, Mrs Heywood both addressed the audience followed by guest speaker Baroness Garden of Frognal, a British Liberal Democrat politician, a Privy Councillor and member of the House of Lords. Following her inspiring talk Baroness Garden presented the prizes and cups to the prize winners whilst Mrs Heywood presented the final awards of the day. To conclude the prize giving Head Girl Daisy summarised the year and the UVI Form sang Flying Free, an annual tradition at Heathfield.
Parents and girls alongside siblings then took to the field for a picnic in year groups whilst the UVI Form girls and parents attended a drinks reception in the library with governors and staff prior to their picnic. Parents’ Day concluded another fantastic year at Heathfield.
