De Valois Weekend, 13th and 14th June 2015

That afternoon Form III headed to Ascot and the First and Second Form baked chocolate chip muffins in the cookery room. On Saturday evening we had the idea of holding an open air cinema evening and the girls were well equipped with blankets, cushions and treats only to be foiled by the bright summer’s night and mosquitos. After experimenting with several locations we moved into the trusty Theatre where they sang the night away to a singalong version of Walking on Sunshine. With the exams continuing for the senior school, Fr Tim put on an early morning mass followed by Chapel for the main school at 10am. Following this the Third and Fourth Forms headed to London to BBC Broadcasting House where they had the opportunity to experience the set from The One Show, play the role of a news presenter, present the weather and create a piece for the radio. Alongside this, a group of girls looking ‘simply gorgeous’ headed to the Queen’s Cup Final at Guards Polo Club in Windsor.  The Polo was brilliant and entertaining but the highlight must have been seeing Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Phillip stop directly next to the minibuses as the girls were piling in. A great weekend was had by all.
