Girls were equipped with laser guns in teams of 4 and 5 and were supplied with unlimited ammunition and lives for the duration of the mission. The guns vibrated when they were hit and inside the maze smoke effects helped to show up the firing laser beams. Although muddy and slightly wet to begin, the sun came out and the competition was fierce for all age groups. The fifth team consisting of Octavia, Maya, Millie, Iona and Dr Harden were awarded the most strategic in their positioning and lethal in their attack. The day finished on a high with the LVI hosting a Disco in the Assembly Hall.

Following Chapel on Sunday the Lower School headed off to Lake Mytchett for an afternoon of outdoor pursuits. Girls could opt for either kayaking or bush craft. Half the group braved the chilly conditions and even colder water to head out on the water and topped the afternoon off with a ‘mad plunge’ off the end of the jetty. The other half of the group trekked off into the wilderness and learnt how to start a fire and hard boil an egg. The challenge came when the eggs had to be cracked on a group member’s head in the hope that it had been properly cooked! Fortunately they all passed this with flying colours!

While the junior school braved the outdoors, the Fourth Form enjoyed an afternoon on the dry ski slopes ‘Snow tubing’ which involved lugging a large rubber tube up the slope and sliding on down again. Great fun was had all round.
