The Music Captain’s concerts are always a highlight of the school year. From the opening orchestral prelude of Summertime by George Gershwin to the final arrangement by Sonya (UVI) of Bobby Hebb’s Sunny, a wonderful variety of songs and styles were enjoyed by parents, pupils and staff.
Tamara (V) sang a haunting version of My Heart will go on, followed by a charming duet version of If I Ain’t Got You sung by Sonya and Zoe (IV) with some delicate harmonies. Form I gave their debut singing Magical Kingdom by John Rutter with some excellent solo lines sung by the girls. Sonya, Doddie and Joy all gave fabulous performances of their chosen songs, while Ella (UVI) played her Tchaikovsky’s Juin Barcarolle with great flair and poise. The Senior Choir sang Don’t Stop me Now by Freddie Mercury which they will also be singing in New York on their trip over half term.
