Reason 99 to celebrate the Ascension

Chapel of the Ascension, Celebration, Birthday, Ice cream In years gone by, Ascension Day has been marked by having an entire day free of lessons and students would be taken by bus over to Virginia Water for an exhilarating stroll around the lake. Today it is much harder for us to celebrate the Ascension as a school, because the date occasionally falls during half term and always falls during public examinations. This year the Ascension was marked in style with a Eucharist in the morning and in the afternoon with the arrival of an ice cream van distributing free flake 99s with a choice of toppings and sauces. What better way to ponder the promise of heaven than with the taste of ice cream and a sugar rush to aid the evening’s revision!
