We were delighted to see the day enhanced by brilliant sunshine. The inter schools show jumping class is always very popular with school teams traveling from all corners of the UK to take part in this important event at such a prestigious show. All the Heathfield team members were extremely well supported with most of their family members in attendance, supplying everything from moral support and horse grooming to ice cream money!
Heathfield were drawn 23rd out of 30 teams to jump in the class, which for once gave us plenty of time to have a relaxed course walk then get the horses ready. We were privileged to have Laura Renwick, the UK’s leading lady show jumper, come to meet the Heathfield team. It was planned for her to walk the course with them, but unfortunately timings clashed with her own course walk for one of the main jumping competitions of the day. Sadly, not all of the girls got to meet her but Laura would like to keep a strong link with our talented show jumpers in the future.
The girls all rode with determination and confidence over the large 90cm high course, but it was not to be our day and we were out of the rosettes. Many thanks to all the team members, their parents and grooms for their endless support on this most enjoyable of Show Jumping occasions.
