Trip to Dorian Gray at the Riverside Studios

The trip to West London was smooth and the girls had some time to grab some sushi-to-go before taking their seats in the intimate venue for the performance. Having read some mixed reviews about the production, the girls went in with an open mind and found that, come the interval, they had plenty to discuss. The second act included some of the actors interacting with the audience with some of the Heathfield girls lucky enough to be on the front row finding themselves confronted with being propositioned in a den of ill-repute!

As the cast took their final bows, the girls were keen to speak to their friends and teachers about the production and the way in which the original text had been adapted, conversations which continued on the short coach trip home and back at school on Friday morning.

Whatever the theatrical merits of the production, the girls engaged with it and the evening proved that all art has merit and is certainly not useless.
