Firstly we listened to a piece by Rave called Valses nobles et sentimentales. What I learnt from this orchestral piece was that it is very difficult to make a harmony from various instruments. The teamwork between the instrumentalists and the conductor was just amazing. In the second piece there was an opera singer called Susan Graham who has been called America’s most loved mezzo. I thought she was very strong in all the movements and the piece was stunning. Finally they played Symphony No. 3, ‘Organ’ which was my favourite piece of the night. The organ was played on two of the movements which was very powerful and moving. Overall we all had a fantastic time and it was a great experience which we all learned from.
