Mr Worrall Thompson’s 16 year old daughter Billie is one of the Berkshire school’s prestigious Art Scholars and her work will feature alongside that of her peers at the Embassy Tea Gallery on London’s Southbank.
The gallery, close to the Tate Modern on Bankside, is part of the growing artistic quarter in the area and occupies an entire floor of the former James Ashby Tea and Coffee Warehouse on Union Street.
Work from around 50 talented artists, photographers, fashion designers and sculptors who are current or recent pupils of the famous all girls’ boarding school will be exhibited at the gallery this Saturday (Feb 8) between 10am and 4pm.
Heathfield School is renowned for its excellence in the creative arts and numbers former Jimmy Choo Chief Creative Officer and co-founder Tamara Mellon and the late designer Isabella Blow, currently subject of a retrospective ‘Fashion Galore’ at Somerset House, as old girls. It is also unique in having won four Good Schools Guide Awards in a row for Best A Level Result Art and Design (Photography) of any English school.
Work from other artists who left the school this year including Tallulah le Bon, the daughter of Yasmin and Simon le Bon, and young models Victoria Savory and Kitty Alexander, will also feature. Also featured will be work from Heathfield staff including the Director of Art Jocelyn Leibovici and the Artist in Residence Sam Johnson.
